I have a 4" managuense female that is colored up nicely, eating good showing "managuense personality" towards her tank mate. The only problem that I'm having is that sometimes she twitches her tail and dorsal fin or she curves her body. I tried ich attack and melafix, not at the same time but nothing seems to be helping. It's not a constant thing, maybe a few time a day at the most. Tank is a planted 40 breeder, 50% wc per week, 1 emperor & 1 penguin (both rated at 50 gallons). I'm getting a new test kit on Wednesday so that I can post the reading. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just encase it was ich in here gills or some kind of bacterial infection. Like I sais, I didn't add the at the same time, I tried ich attack first then did a water change and added melafix a few days later.

Is she doing this when close to other fish. Could be trying to establish dominance or attract a mate?

i always thought when they curved their bodies like that they were either showing off or stretching

My flowerhorn always do it just to show how strong he is all the time. Whenever I vacuum his tank,he'll just come and thrash agaisnt the siphon.

My mbu puffer started to do that but I also haven't seen him eat in over a week and he's a pig , I'm starting to get worried about him

Ok, I think you're right jagster, usually she does it right before chasing after someone. She is getting VERY aggressive, and more violet color. The only one that she's scared of is my sail-fin pleco, he's the alpha.
