i have two jardinis in a 180g (upgrade soon) and have to separate them using eggcrate because of fighting. would adding redtail cats around 12"-16" allow me to take down the barrier and stop fighting, or would i have to add another jardini?

adding a third will probably add to the caos. its hit or miss with jars. the last one i had didn't bother anything in the tank. if they are already aggressive they will most likely stay aggressive toward each other any probably anything else you add

big nono....it does not work like silvers or asians or blacks.....one per tank, only.

HFG, I was talking about about Jardinis together with Jardinis..

I have jardinis with silvers. I have jardinis with asians.
I've had jardinis with blacks ( not anymore )

I have 2 now. I had 3 before but one died....NOT KILLED by other Jardinis.

Your tank is not an average tank, You know it....You have the whole amazon, the ganges and the murray river in there, Jed, as you know...:)

I agree with Miguel.Jars naturally fight with each other in the wild.In this case the weaker fish can simply swim away to safety.Something they can't do in the average aquarium. When fishing for them they often sport scars from previous battles.
