TWO MILITARY FACILITIES ATTACKED IN TENNESEE

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Military personnel don't typically carry weapons if not deployed or on a specific military mission that requires it. They are not law enforcement, I never carried a weapon on a CONUS assignment unless we were put on alert. I've never seen an armed recruiter. MPs could now be assigned to these units, that is an option.

My question is WHY WOULD MILITARY personal be armed while walking around a facility? Strange logic to think they're armed at all time just because they're military haha

It probably wouldn't have made much of a difference if they were armed in this case since the gunman never entered the recruitment office and he fired at them from outside from a distance. They never knew what hit them. The Fort Hood situation was altogether different and armed personnel might have forced a different outcome.

Isn't this the second attack on a recruitment center recently? I think the last one was in 2009. Really sad

That guy was actively stalking and shooting people inside of buildings. The stuff nightmares are made of.

Expect this to be another rallying point for the gun debate

So I read he traveled to Jordan and Yemen but this didn't raise any concerns? I didn't realize that Yemen was a popular tourist destination. I would be curious to see what Jordan's tourist industry generates as well seeing as tourist spots are getting targeted lately but maybe that is just a north African thing

Yep,and a photo of the front entrance of the recruitment office is already being used by the pro side...The photo shows a Gun free zone sticker that is surrounded by bullet holes from the shooting on the front window of the place....it's a very chilling visual.

Honestly I don't think that the 2nd amen. Will be an issue on this one....seems to me this is an act of war by an opportunistic terrorist. ... but finding the enemy amongst our own citizenry is going to be sticky...at that point there is going to be profiling questions. ..tough deal but it will shake out eventually
