That is just freakin rediculous!!! I can't see how anybody would get enjoyment from doing something like that.:(:irked::screwy:

I know Koi can get pretty expensive, but the damage was estimated at $20,000? that sounds a little exaggerated, but I can understand. I hope they get re-imbursed, for the damage done and emotional stress of watching delinquints killing their pets.
Go to jail, Directly to jail, do not pass go and do not collect $200, morons.

Actually 30 fish at $250 each, draining the pond and detoxifying the soap residue, refilling and treating the pond, replacing or cleaning plumbing, replacing and re-establishing filter media, and either hiring people to do the labor or charging prevailing wage for the time involved in doing it yourself, this sounds quite reasonable.
After the teens are charged and sentenced they need to be taken to civil court as well to recover all costs and pay for "mental anguish".

i hope they are tried as adults!! and with 30 counts of animal cruelty!! yes three lived, but the still were tortured...sick people these days...

what as*holes. i cant believe that someone would do that. a life is a life IMO, and those fish never hurt anybody. this kind of thing is just ridiculus. man, if i ever met those punks in person, they would get one hell of an earfull.

Who would pay $250 for a koi? not me. I'd buy 30 tiny koi and grow it out in the pond. When larger, yes they are worth alot more, but I doubt that guy paid 250 for each. If hes anything like a middle class white collar American He'd have to take out a loan to afford 30 koi @ $250 a pop

even if he bought them cheaper as babies, how much do you think he spent in food, water, pond upkeep etc.. to get them to adult size.
