two types of puffers in 30 gallon

Most puffers aren't big fans if eachother. That's why you always see them with nipped fins at the shop. The only ones I can think of right now are pee puffers. They actually get along well in groups and you can keep quite a few in a 30

I have 4 figure 8 puffers in a 40 fed once a day and they get along fine. I use 1 table spoon of fresh water aquarium for ten gallons. The babys can have freshwater, Saltwater, Freshwater aquarium salt brackish or saltwater brackish. Adults prefer saltwater.

The dwarf puffers were in different tanks as the figure 8 puffers. With the figure 8 puffers I had 2 green spot puffers but they were beat up when I got them, never ate and died within 2 days.

Dwarf puffers usually die when moved and all 4 of mine died within 3 days. The largest one creates a chemical so he is a male and the rest are females.

For figure 8 puffers ... according to live aquaria .com..... Spawning occurs in brackish water. The eggs will be laid on the bottom, either on the substrate or on a flat rock. After the eggs are fertilized, the male will stay behind to guard them for approximately 7 days until the fry become waterborne.

To answer your question; F8's are considered some of the more friendly puffers in the world, but still wouldn't trust them not to nip other fish... but as others have mentioned, F8's require very low end brackish water to thrive... and GSP's actually require mid to high levels of brackish water when young, and almost SW levels when mature...

As for Hairy puffers, they are actually full Freshwater puffers, and would also prefer having a good 30G tank to themselves even though they are more of a lurker species of puffer... which also means, if one of your F8's hovered too close to the hairy, he/she would make a light snack of out of one of them...
