After some soul searching I decided that it's time to get my own Drymarchon. He's a very pretty male from a breeder in NC. It took some extra legwork, and he cost a pretty penny but IMHO he is a looker. Now, this means no more snakes for a couple of months :frog:, but seems to be worth it.

You actually don't have to look that closely to see the remains of a veal sandwich lodged in there somewhere either.

Great pick-up, one day i will own a indigo, one day, till then i will have to make do with pictures of yours :D
 
welcome to the drymarchon club. Be ready to clean up the rankest smelling feces you have ever encountered- and LOTS of it! Here is my big guy.

Snakeguy, of course you do.. You have a fantastic taste in serpents. I can't wait til my little guy reaches that size.

I was originally supposed to get an Eastern but I guess this is what happens when you piss off your only viable source of getting a D. couperi, without resorting to online classified animals which are obvious rejects from people's collections. Well, TX boy ain't no slouch, he's got an incredible custard yellow colouration underneath on the first half of his body fades to black along with that high blue sheen. He's a shy eater right now - eats, but won't eat infront of me, but I'm guessing in no time he will be a ferocious eater of an Indigo.

My UK friend, your time will come. I do believe that people do hold a somewhat of a romanticized idea when it comes to cribos, but most of it is actually justifiable IMO.
 
Shy eater? an indigo??? I won't believe it till i see it! My indigos (easterns) are absolutely ravenous! they come flying out of the cage mouth open every single time..regardless of whether food is involved or not lol I definitely recommend hook training these guys (not that it's having any effect on mine lol but they are still young)
and yeah..... definitely keep up on cleaning... I can let me kings and most of the pythons go for a while.. usually... not so with indigos.... they crap all over the place...and it is rank... and they are very artistic with it -.-
but other than that... they are freaking awesome!

Breeder rejects are not so bad- That is how I got mine for free as long as I promised not to breed him.
 
I have heard all about their feeding responses but I've yet to experience it. He is just a little guy, so I guess I'll cut him a break for now. As for their poop... yes and I am still getting emotionally prepared for the bigger loads.

As for the abovementioned classified rejects, well there are a couple of Eastern Indigos for sale at the moment in the great white north.. It's been offered for grabs for a while now - they're quite honestly put 'ugly' animals. It doesn't make me wonder why it's being offered for sale when I'm looking at their pictures.. As for getting an ex breeder for free, that is a sweet deal.
 
Awesome snakes, Indigos! Authentic trash cans! You can even feed it fish :)
 
since they love to paint with their fecal matter... name it picaso
