I HAVE A BUTTERKOFERI , A RED DEVIL AND A PIKE CICHLID. as far as the diet i know it suppose to vary what my question what is best to use for as the base of there diet . i am assuming some type of flake or pellet. i mean if i am wrong then let me know. So what type and what brand if there is one. Thanks in advance.

Definitely a good pellet. Don't use flakes for a staple. I use Cichlid Gold sinking pellets.

I was using flakes at first now i switched to hikari cichlid gold but there not eating it but i think it because it is the floating type before when i used sinking algae wafer the butti just ate it all up and the devil ate it to

you cant go wrong with a hikari cichlid pellet

I personally prefer Omega One cichlid pellets to others, altho I have recently started using some HBH pellets and my fish love them. Ive been feeding the Oscar Show pellets to all my cichlids and their colors and appetites have just exploded.

I use hikari cichlid gold the floating type as the staple for all my fish.

Same here for my new world cichlids.

My staple pellet mix is a blend of Omega One Super Veggie Kelp pellets and Omega One Cichlid pellets. I go heavy on the veggie, mom always made me eat my veggies....

Burt:)
