Hi all! I want to start a tank building project on my own, based on the sticky post which helped me sooo much. However, what kind of glass should i use? I called home depot and they said they only have plexi-glass? what is that? Can i use it to make a tank? If not, where can I get sheets of glass?

I have decided to make a tank 95 x 25 x 25. Using an aquarium calculator, that is about 225 gallons of water.. what kind of glass should I use? Is plexi-glass enough to hold the water?

no it is not
check out garf's web site
http://garf.org/index.html
look on the left side of the page under diy

with a tank that size it says 1/2 inch glass and 1/2 inch acrylic

are you think all glass all acrylic or plywood and glass or acrylic?

just call around to your local glass shops..... you might as well go 30" wide it wouldnt add that much to the price of the tank and have you priced it out yet you really wont save that much money by doing an all glass tank yourself I priced it on a 265 and with doing it all myself I would have save a wopping $85 dollars tank makers get a good deal on glass so its almost not worth it unless you are doing only two sides glass and the rest plywood
