thats for salt water, wiil probably your pH up. P' like 7 to 6.7pH. you can try pool filter sand or play sand. how much depends on how thick you want the substrate to be

how thick do you want it to be for a shoal of pygos?

i read somewhere that rbps prefer gravel to sand? they often produce their offspring in aquariums with gravel, well i would go with pool filter sand!

where would i get pool filter sand and i think i want to fill up my tank about 1.5-2inch ima plant the tank once i get!

would the sand be expensive?

50 lbs for about 14 bucks you can get them at lowes ace hardware or home depot

alright cool thanks guys il try to stop by one of those places and try to get some..

whats the best way to take out all the rocks i have in my tank.. there like half a dime size and about 20pounds in there.

if you have a good way let me know.

In the next week or so I'm draining my 125 and taking ou the gravel and replacing it with black sand and black flourite sand.

well my plan is every week when i do a 50% WC ima scoop some gravel at the same time... might take like a week or 2 but it seems to be the safest way for me. then add maybe 10pounds of sand a week after im done with the gravel
