does anyone know what the smallest type of shark bred for captivity for sale in the us? there are none in the fish stores where i live nor can they order or give me any info. so ive been looking at online sites and see the same kinds (epaulette, bamboo, marble, port jackson, horn, etc... ) the smalles ive seen is the grey bamboo. is that correct? or is there smaller...?

coral catshark is the smallest i know.

coral cats get to be 2 feet correct? and are they pretty much the same as marbled cat sharks? it seems some sites list them as one in the same

a bit smaller than marble cats and a different color

ok so pretty comparible to a grey bamboo? give or take a few inches... are they very active? is a gray bamboo active?

generally they are both inactive, but the coral catshark would be more active than the gray bamboo, especially at night. What size tank are you planning?

am i the only one that picked up on this?

"bred for captivity"?

with sharks there's no such thing

the coral cat is the smallest commonly available, somewhere between 18 and 24 inches
no shark (aside from obligatory ram ventilators) is going to be considered 'active'

a 220 would be the smallest i'd keep one in (6'x2.5'x2')

im not sure i have another thread posted asking what size tank, i was assuming a minimum 300 to 500

any idea of where i could get a decent tank for a good price? i live 100 miles north of phoenix az. ive been keeping up on the buy sell forum here, all the local stores, craigslist, etc... and i never see anything bigger than 250 for less than thousands! and locally theres nothing over 300 gallons period...

glasscages.com is pretty popular

300 is a good minimum size to reccomend
