I allways thought, for some odd weird reason, that those long animals looked good walking in movies, but it is cumbersome looking in skeleton form?:screwy: . How are we so sure they walked upright?

So I beleive they had big, round bellies and scooted around on them using their back legs.

Seriously though...I think that Sarcosuchus really put a lot of thought into this thread. Well written post and an interesting read. But who would win out? T-Rex...or the Crocodilian relative Sarcosuchus? I know different time periods...but what if?

spinosaurs are definaltey the longest predator on eatrh, bu the LARGEST goes to t rex. is't more massive and heavily built than spinos. 12 tons is totally unrealistic. the most recent evudence suggest something more like 6-7 tons.
we know therapods walked horizontally because of the placement and architecture of the hip socket. if they walked "belly out", like we do, the hips would face moer out to the side and forward than they do and the knees would bend the other diection, towards the body. also the tails and vertibrae sections do not alight to support the estimated weights of most therapods, even the new, more conservative ones.

i'm pretty sure that i read somewhere that no one has ever discovered a spinosaurus skull. that is why some books show it looking like a t rex with a sail and jurassic park shows it like a crocodile with a sail. i use to be a dino-freak, and i still remember most of the info that i discovered back then.:D
