you can report to eBay that it is a banned species and therefore illegal for it to be sold on eBay. I already have.

not that I am rude... but i would just leave him alone.... for me if a buyer is willing to buy and a seller is selling... we just need to mind our own business. do not get me wrong, but that is his problem and the problem of the buyer, not ours. Unless you are a F&W officer or volunteer. And besides... the price for what he is asking has a very slim chance of being bought. so, what we sell that we think is not allowed... leave them alone and get back to your own business. :) hopefully you guys don't get mad about this. :) If you do, sorry, if you get what i mean, then you know what i wanted to get across.:)

I know there are those of you who disregard the law banning imporation of certain species, most of them are unjustifiable however RTGs are restricted because they are threatened with EXTINCTION, extinction is kind of a big deal last I checked. By condoning any trading of this type of species you are only helping to speed up the process.

I could care less if you buy/sell/trade species like RBP in places where they are banned (cali), but this is different.

there are those of us here who are hobbyist, and those that are actual fish lovers. There is a difference in my mind.

:) I will not argue with you about your point. You must also consider that asian arowanas are being successfully breed in japan, indonesia, thailand and other asian countries. Only reason why they do not replenish the wild stock... $$$. Arowanas has a high price and the people who breed these fish would rather get there money than waste the fish and release it to the wild.:)

My last point here is, if we point out asian arowana's as illegal fish, we must be neutral all the way, with no exceptions. Stingrays, RBP, Snakeheads, Certain Tilapia, and more, you must also consider illegal or else you cannot justify the statement you want to make. WE (all hobbiest, MFK members and the rest) very well know that some people keep exotic fish, and let us not bother them nor condem them for what they have. WE are all fish lovers and not bitter people who gives bold statement and actually have something we should not keep.:)

There are better things to talk about than argue on this forum. PEACE to all fish keepers and let us just keep in mind one thing...

"mind your own business...:D " no offense but the truth hurts.;)

Not cool IMO. Should be reported for trying to sell that aro here in the states.

well first of all you replied saying that you will not argue and than proceed to do so, if you did not wish to argue you should not have replied; and should not reply to this.

secondly the high asking price might make one consider that this individual fish is not captive bred. Whether it is or not is not the question really, this species is still threatened with extinction and that is the bottom line.

third, I will make as many exceptions as i see fit as to which laws I stand behind and which ones I dont. Species that are banned due to their declining populations in their natural habitats or species that are threatened with extinction should not be traded freely by "hobbyists."

Lastly, this is my business since I decided to make it my business.

sorry, but it seemed to me you got offeneded.

i was not arguing with you, i was making a statement you just made... as i said... you are against illegal arowanas then that's your opinion but when you stated..."I could care less if you buy/sell/trade species like RBP in places where they are banned (cali), but this is different." I do not see any difference.. both asian arowanas and the one you stated are illegal in any case. anyhow, i will not comment on this anymore. if you want to mind other people's business that is your choice and you are free to do so. But keep in mind, if you act like a "police" in this forum or other forums, you might end up having a sour relationship with fellow hobbiest, and they wll avoid you for sure. :chillpill:

RPBs are not illegal because they are in danger of being extinct, they are illegal because they are considered invasive. I am not opposed to keeping the fish because its illegal, I am opposed to keeping the fish because it is in danger of not exsisting any more.

I was not trying to "police" this forum; I am "policing" eBay. There are people here who can do what they please and I if I disagree I can do nothing about it; however I can do something on eBay.

I am not offended, I find your arguements childish.

Saw that coming. Hopefully he'll have to pay $18,000 in fines plus the $4.80 ebay listing fee.
