hello all

just wanted to drop a bit of a story about a recent experience with the company called U HAUL

we rented a truck in calgary alberta. they were over 3 and half hours late in getting us our truck and only got us one as a last resort on the behalf of the distributor who pushed buttons on our behalf. many thanks to him, but, the truck we did get ahahahhahahah

a 5 tonne truck with easily 2- 2 1/2 inches play in the steering when it got over 30 miles per hour. Try driving such a vehicle on the highway as you need to get back and can't wait the extra day or so. Try having live fish in the truck with you that you need to get to their destination. Try having over 5 thousand dollars of aquariums in the back. Try being the owner of a restaurant that needs its chef/owner to be back to take care of business.

when attempts were made to try to get them to make things right for blowing up the business trip making us have to miss certain set meetings, they do absolutely nothing!!!! But charge the full amount for the truck rental, ok deal done, take your money and be a loser company and eat it with the bad rap you now have with me.

Actually let's go one further. Add extra charges to the bill after the fact and do not even inform me about them. Then send the bill to a collection agency without even so much as an email or letter!!!

Really that is the way I do business, I make sure to screw over my customers without so much as informing them that there is money owed. I make sure I serve them food that is tainted and not safe and then don't care when they have a bad experience I THINK NOT!!!!!!!

So yes if you want to rent a truck from a company that will make you late, give you mechanically unsound vehicles then charge you extra and not even tell you about it but simply throw it to a collection agency so screwing with your credit rating, BY ALL MEANS RENT A VEHICLE FROM UHAUL.

Personally I will never rent a vehicle from them ever again. It is not the extra money that matters whatever that will be paid on monday. It is the shoddy way this shyster company does business and refuses to be upfront about how they do things.

man i HATE U-Haul, they are the scum! I always use Budget rental. theyre still crappy, but a little better than u-haul

Wow! Sorry for the extremely poor service! Was it a franchise rental place or a U-haul corporate place? Some Uhauls here are OK, while others suck. The larger they are the better chance you have of getting good equipment. They definitely do not know how to think outside the box though! They also do not pay their employees well, and generally get what they pay for! I've used Ryder and Uhaul, but Ryder only has trucks for rent and not trailers or anything else. Uhaul also does one way rentals and I don't think Ryder does at all. My 2 cents worth!

I've only dealt with U-haul twice; once it was terrible (when I dealt with them of course...), and the other time it was tolerable (nothing went wrong, but you still pay a ridiculous sum for their 4 year old truck with 300k miles on it)

Yeah I made the mistake of using one of their car haulers last year when I went to pick up an old Mustang. I had to drive over an hour to get to where the car was and when I went to load it on the trailer I noticed the ratchet straps that go over the wheels were ripped apart and pieces were missing making this a waste of a trip. Lucky for me my friend driving the truck had a set of ratchet straps in the back so we were able to get the car home driving slow as hell. Needless to say I called Uhaul and told them what happened and they didn't charge me a dime.

we also do old cars and I would freak if any of mine fell off a hauler, thankfully they gave you some justice

lesson learned
if you need a truck buy one . . . .

thats a joke but if you can afford one get one
