U.S.F.W. proposes bill to prohibit all members of Python, Boa & Eunectes genera

Do NOT support PIJAC. They use the 3m snake rule, 2m lizard rule. I much rather follow VPI's 35+ lbs ban if there is no species to species basis. I know it doesn't have anything with the USF&W, but I am just letting you guys know what PIJAC does...

What they proposing is not bad, but still it is supporting an organization that doesn't think things through.

I just thought it was a good thing to read after everyone and their mom jumped the gun and attacked USFW without reading the whole thing first.

It is a good read, but they mentioned the membership thing in there. So I was just letting people know what they would end up supporting.

Why the sudden concern of constrictors ? Did they recently just come into this country and what problems did they pose to our environment 10,15,and 20 years ago.I dont even keep snakes of any kind presently,I think they are boring but I also think that this proposal needs to be challenged because I did not see any language regarding prmits for those of us who are hobbyists or for breeders.I have a problem with government entities dictating and trying to assert control over law abiding citizens when public safety cant be assured.It starts with boas,but in another few years we will be discussing something else that we are no longer allowed to have because someone sitting up in some office sees his duty to deprive certain segments of society of.I have no crystal ball but I dont see an anaconda getting loose and actually killing someone down in the swamps of Florida.

They're not worried about them killing people, they're worried about them taking over the Everglades.

It takes a good 15-20 years for retic's and anaconda's to reach a size where they're going to start eating gators and such, which is what we're seeing now.

It needs to be regulated, but this isn't the way to go about doing it.
