Okay, call this a rant if you like, but the USPS SUCKS!!!!! Last weeks two day priority shipment arrived on just the EIGHTH day, mangled, with a "WE CARE" sticker (what do they care about, their paycheck?), with a cloth priority mail bag stuffed in a packing and all 60 fish dead. WTFO? I guess you know the taxpayers 32$ mailbag will never be seen again by the USPS. I think I'll fill it with feces and drop it off for their enjoyment.
This weeks shipment was mailed before 4 pm on monday and is still sitting where it was dropped off according to the all-knowing USPS tracking geniuses. DEAD FISH AGAIN????? A fine fellow MFK'er did everything right and the USPS FAILED AGAIN!!!!! I wonder why their rates keep going up?
If you work there and are compelled to rave about what a great job you do and how hard you work, save it. Go do your job and then kick the ***$ of your coworkers who also suck!!!
Gee, I wonder why UPS and FEDEX get more packages every year.
UPS and FEDEX have yet to even be a day late for me yet.
FIRE THE IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ship with anyone but these JERKS!!!

did the guy contact District Expedited Services Office, you need to contact them when shipping a live animal. and they will tell you when the optimum time is to drop off your package. you also want overnight not 2 day shipping, alot of places wont give you a live arrival guarentee on priority.
a lot of people dont contact the eso when sending fish.
also i would have told you to buy insurance on the package, if possible.

but honestly ups would be the way to go for fastest and most reliable shipping. they are probably more expensive.

thankfully, in 3 shipments , the usps has been excellent for me and all have arrived except for one shrimp which appeared to have been crushed during the actual packaging of the shipment. the packages all arrived extremely fast. i just got a priority package in just 2 business days from cali and i'm in fl

i can honestly say from working at UPS, that overnight shipping their is very prompt and reliable, and if the box is damaged, usually its because the contents were way too heavy for the box and it got deformed cuz it couldnt support the weight.

but i agree, USPS sucks.

UPS FTW

Wrong, I have had two packages within the pas year shipped to me via UPS overnight, both with a 1030 guarantee (which actually means between 10 and 12). The first one didnt arive until 5 pm and was sent to Florida Ave instead of Florence Ave, the second one was sent to Pine Valley Dr, instead of Pine Hills dr.

I ship (and receive) using both OVERNIGHT UPS and USPS and have had good luck with both.

I have them HOLD the box at the shipping center or post office so that I can pick it up in person. Fewer hand-offs = few opportunities for screw up.

Sorry for your losses, but shipping a bunch of fish, in the summer, PRIORITY mail is asking for problems.

that was the drivers fault, not mine :) plus, i worked at rockford, your package was most likely handled in kentucky.

I've had stuff shipped to me Via AP to AP and through Fed Ex. and I'm a lot more happy with AP to AP since the package doesn't have to be in transit as long. the last time I had a shipment come to me it was on the Fed Ex truck for almost 7 hours in 90 degree heat. Everything lived but I would have rather drove that extra 1.5 hours to the AP (one way) then have the fish in a truck for 7 hours.

Shippment and proccessment of live fish is not the post offices or UPS/ Fedex's, normal procedures. I have had many fish shipped through all the above, Some times it's the processers fault in the fishes's death, and sometimes it's the shipper. you have to know and understand the risks before you decide to go through with shipping. If you are concerned enough- PICK IT UP YOURSELF, rather than blame a company that dealt with an out of the ordinary request, that or buy from a seller that will refund for the fishes price, honest and good sellers will refund you for the loss of the fish. I hate losing fish through mail, but it's part of the game if you can't manage to pick it up yourself, and the risk is there.

FYI, for fish (overnight or 2 night is the longest i would mail it for, (shorter the better with larger fish) as stated eariler priority is anywhere from 2-4 days ussally.)
