U.V. sterilizer benifit's in 75 gal Fresh tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For the past 2-3 years I have been running a fluval 304, I just ordered my heater yesterday and I will be puchasing a 18 watt turbo twist uv sterilizer before the month is over, today I am pulling out all of my plants and decor and giving them a huge cleaning followed with a good vaccum of the gravel (which I already do 2-3x a month) and I will add some stress coat and salt and raise the temp to about 80 and we will just see what happens, like I said before it seem's like my clow knife is really the only fish who seems to be scratching and it's driving both of us CRAZY!!!!

By the way, the parrot and severum pic was taken just after a feeding frozen brine, my tank dosent have that many particles floating around all the time!!!

Sure...

And I've got to double check just to make sure I have water in mine it's so clean...

Seriously... Nice pics and nice fish.

The clown knife is probably getting the worst of it because he's always on the substrate.

Can you take the gravel out and really clean it?

Just get a couple 5g buckets or a lg rubbermaid bin so you can take it outside to clean it and rinse with alot of fresh water. Drying it in the sun is another option (helps kill what you didn't get).

I would like to get my uv running first and if that doesnt stop the problem resort to pretty much tearing apart my tank, I think I am gonna get my under gravel up and running too that cant hurt either, I think it was a mistake to stop using it in the first place!!!

Well it's all set up and running great so far!!! I have my in-line heater hooked up to my intake line and my turbo twist uv sterilizer running thru my out line. Have'nt seen any of my fish scratching on gravel or decor since before I hooked it all up two days ago, and my water look's crystal clear!!! Thanks for the advice every one!!!!

i have a clown knife that is about 10 inches and scratches himself of the gravl and decor. I don't know what to do either?
