Should i get one of these for my 180 sa/ca set up? Its a little cloudy even with my 30 gallon sump... I herd these keep your water crystal clean
 
might not be necessary, if your water parameters are where they need to be then you can get one. they do a great job for disease control and water born algae (green water). anything that would help the integrity of your tank/investment is a good idea. however if you have high ammonia then you got some work to do!!

huh, lol. i was always told that they help for "green water" and bacteria. i added one to my 55g freshwater and it works really well. probably didnt need it for a freshwater but w/e lol

are you sure... everyone has told me the are made for zaping alge in the water to keep the tank crystal clear.... and if you had a bacteria problem it wouldnt take care of it
 
Guys... it depend on how long the microbes are exposed to the UV.
