i would have said so! but you do know that they like to live in larger groups right?? although im not sure if this comes into account when they are breeding lol

Not really once they get to maturity. Singles or pairs usually work with larger fish, threes usually result in the 3rd wheel getting picked on by the pair.
I've got a pair that regularly lay eggs, never tried raising them because the clown loaches (or the parents?) eat the eggs.

thanks for everyones input, if they do lay eggs should i seperate them?

if you mean the eggs from the parents then no dont separate them. the young use the slime on the parents body as a food source (like discus i think but more dependant on it) and apparently a lot more if not all die most of the time when removed from the parents.

I wouldnt seperate either. Only because i would like to witness/experience my uaru raising the young. But if you want to make sure the fry make it every time eggs are laid, then i would remove them just in case the parents or tankmates eat them.

awesome deal !!!!! wish i could find some here !!!!!!!!!!!

they are hell on eggs. i think they eat them as fast as they lay them :irked:

if you have a true pair you have more than enough.

they do prefre to be in groups when younger get as they age a pair will be fine.
