So once (In afew lifetimes from now) when my tank is cycled and water quality is pristine... and I go to get uaru How many should I get, I dont want to be crual with this lovely fish and want it to enjoy, so i am getting at least 2.. but due to my current stocking and my "illness" of not keeping equal numbers of different fish and kinda also the money problem, what should I do?
Ignoring my current stocking there are 2 options... BTW i want the UARU to be the show fish
OPTION #1:
2x Uarus
3x Geophagas Surnimensis

OPTION #2:
3x Uaru
2x Geophagas Surnimensis

OPTION #3: IDK about this one
3x Uaru
3x Geophagas Surnimensis

I prefer the first option... but what do you guys think?

Hmm. I would recommend just a pair of Uaru. They generally like to be in a larger group, but the tank is not that big to have a group of 5, which is what I would normally recommend.
About the geophagus- Surinamensis are almost impossible to find. You will often see geos being sold as surinamensis, but they are usually other species being passed off as surinamensis. Geophagus really benefit from being in a larger group, they will be more comfortable and you will get to see their interactive behavior more. I would recommend you go for a smaller geophagus, so you can have a group of 5. Tapajos redhead would be a better choice.

i can move my stocking and screw the 2 clown plecos for 2 more geos, and in the end i would have a 130% stocking level, so 5 geos would be okay?

if you think it would be cruel, then i guess i would have to do something, what do you think? BTW i hope if i give enough attention would the Uaru be happy?
