they don't mess with the ray?

the normal uaru.a DONT mix with rays and will always peck at the rays disk

the uaru.f are the perfect mid-water fish for a aro ray tank

when i got them i was told they were hard to keep but i have not had any problems

i think the key to uaru.f is make sure you have a UV

i love them and the eyes are realy as red as you see in the pics

i want one!!! there aren't any really good lfs left in Memphis... i loved a standard Uaru that i had years ago... do they act similar?

i would say they are a little more aggressive than normal uaru and even beat up a 8inch NGT dat and a 8inch true siamese wide bar dat so i had to sell them as im trying to breed the uaru.f now and they have spawned twice in the normal tapwater they are kept in

awesome! U got the uaru to spawn! Congrats! Now you need to get some Hoplarchus psittacus and get them to spawn...waitin for my babies to get big enough...then BOO YA!!

Haha! Sweet!! They are quite possibly one of my fav. cichlids...next to Crenicichla....and pbass! I've got 4 of the little buggas right now...the Brazilian Red Breasted strain.... Love them! Got them at 2.5" I think, now they are pushin 5 to 5.5" easily! Grrrreat fish! If you have a chance to grab some, DO IT! No regrets!!
