Uaru Fernandezyepezi tips?

Captives were commercially available several years ago. Mine were F1 that Jeff Rapps brought in from Europe (Belgium, I think?). They grew and ate like crazy but still got HITH. We figured it must be the high pH and hardness. IMO I would not keep them, wild or F1, unless you can provide softer water. They just don't do well.

And as always, until they're through acclimation (which can take weeks to a few months), wilds can be touchy. I have watched a lot of panda uaru crash and burn over the past decade, even in the hands of experienced hobbyists. I'm not saying everyone will have that experience, but it seems to happen more often than not.
