If you don't have plants and inverts I would try copper. I had decent luck with Coppersafe and it lasts a long time in the tank. Just add appropriate med when you do a wc.

I have found young Uaru are susceptible to other pathogens like flukes etc ( like Discus ). Particularly after being weakened by white spot and medication. When they are over the white spot keep a close eye on them over the following months for signs of not eating and or spitting food and do not hesitate to treat for these other possible infections.
