what jobs does marine bio offer?

over here i've heard it can get you research, protection of marine life like checking out if coral reefs are ok etc. i think basically research has a big scope for this area. i dunno about over there. its a lot of field work, when i was looking at some of the courses at uni over here they had loads of different placements to visit different countries, looks like fun to me.
