When i did some research on how to ship water lettuce, they wrap the roots with wet tissue and place it in a small ziplock then add a little water for moist.Bummer!
Well.... every store, even PetSmart/Co should have anubias and java fern - these don't need to be planted in the substrate and don't need high lighting. Also, water sprite can just be chucked into water too!
If I knew how to ship plants so they wouldn't die (and I wouldn't get in trouble, I know that there are rules on certain plants) I would happily send you some.

I love floating plants cause i dont have to worry about where i need to plant them, but having a SD in the tank, im sure they will destroy the live plant.I exchanged some.plants with another member (java moss and java fern) this way and it worked out fine.

I had petsmart annubias amd was was fine...actually grew better than lfs baught
