Brock Lesnar Vs. Frank Mir - This should be a good fight just based solely on what the fighters have riding on it. Brock really needs to beat Mir in the rematch to validate himself (to some) as a real mma fighter, and Mir needs to show that he really is back and still has some gas left in his tank. I'm going to take Brock in this fight just because I think what he has learned since his loss to Mir will be enough to take him to a win. I thought that he was close to finishing Mir off the first time they fought, but made a rookie mistake and got caught. I think Brock's strength is hard for any fighter to overcome, and I think he will be able to over-power Mir, similar to the Herring fight. One thing to remember and this is vital, we still have not seen Brock take a solid punch. We do not know how he will be able to bounce back, or even if he will be able to bounce back from a big shot, and judging by the way Mir was throwing punches against Nog, Brock may have to shake a couple shots off.
Georges St-Pierre Vs. Thiago Alves - This for me is the most exciting fight of the night. I think that this is going to be GSP's toughest opponent yet, and that includes BJ Penn. It's more about the match-up than the actual fighter. Alves is strong, real strong. I think he is one of the few guys in that weight class that can challenge GSP for "walking into the cage" strength. I think Alves is doing as good of a job at putting on weight after the weigh-in as anybody. I'm still going to go with GSP in this fight because I have to see guys like Alves do it on the big stage before I can expect it to happen. GSP is so good, and I think he will rely heavily on his jab to try and create space and keep Alves back. It will be interesting to see how GSP handles a guy as strong as Alves, but then again, a lot of people said that about GSP fighting Matt Hughes too. If GSP wins this, he will have to be considered as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world, along with Fedor.
Jon Fitch Vs. Paulo Thiago - This may be the #1 contender fight, and specifically if Jon Fitch wins. His fight with GSP was one for the ages, and I think that a rematch would be a cool fight to see. I think that most feel that Fitch will win, but Paulo Thiago seems to be pretty tough coming off a huge upset and a huge KO against Josh Koscheck. Fitch should be way more prepared for this type of fight than Thiago, and if he knows that he could get a shot if he wins, Fitch should come out on top.
Dan Henderson Vs. Michael Bisping - I think this fight probably ranks at number two for me as far as excitement goes for UFC 100. Leaving the TUF season aside, and there was a fair bit of talking between the two, this is a really intriguing match-up, and will most likely be a #1 contender fight. This is a tough one for me to call because I have been banging the drum for a while now that I think that Bisping could beat Anderson Silva if they got matched up. The problem is, as weird as it sounds, I'm not sure if Bisping can beat Hendo. It goes back to the match-up thing, and the reason why I like Bisping against Silva is because I think Silva would have a hard time with a patient, methodical guy like Bisping. Hendo on the other hand is so aggressive that I think that could nullify Bisping's strengths. I decided to go with Bisping by a decision in this fight because I think he will do his best to create distance so Hendo can't get in and throw bombs, and will be able to pick apart Hendo with some well-placed jabs. I think it will be a split decision win for Bisping, but with the way these two match up, I wouldn't be surprised if Hendo got in tight early and put Bisping down fast.
Yoshihiro Akiyama Vs. Alan Belcher - Judo for the win!
Mark Coleman Vs. Stephan Bonnar - Stephan Bonnar rocks, and he is one of the most fun guys to watch in the UFC. This fight will go similar to Coleman's fight with Shogun except that Bonnar's conditioning is far better than Shogun's so he will be able to finish Coleman off, probably in round 2, and not have to go to decision. Hopefully after Bonnar pounds Coleman, Dana will stop Coleman from fighting just like he's trying to do with Chuck.
Mac Danzig Vs. Jim Miller - I got Jim Miller in this one. I thought Danzig would be better, and while he is decent, he doesn't look like he'll be able to take that next step. Miller is coming off a decision loss to Gray Maynard, and with the way Gray is fighting, there's no shame in that loss.
Jon Jones Vs. Jake O'Brien - This is the "I wish they show the undercard" fight of the night. Jon Jones is starting to get some hype, and deservedly so as he has a ton of potential. I feel bad for him that he got stuck on the undercard while the guy he beat, Stephen Bonnar, is taking on Marc Coleman (who lost to Shogun), and that fight will no doubt be televised. If Jones wins here though, I would almost guarantee that he will have a televised fight, and maybe a big one.
Dong Hyun Kim Vs. TJ Grant - Judo for the win!
