BJ Penn Vs. Kenny Florian
Kenny Florian via knockout RD 2

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL: not a chance !!!

Thoughts:

BJ Penn Vs. Kenny Florian - I thought this was a great fight to watch. WE got to see BJ at his best, where he has been at 155, and that really right now, no one can touch him. I actually liked what Florian brought. I know people are getting on him for "leaning" on BJ, but it is a common thought throughout mma, that if there is a way to beat BJ (at 155) it is by straight up Thai boxing. People, well regarded people, think that if you can get in tight with BJ and get him in the clinch, that elbows and knees are the way to go, and that you can wear him down. This is what Florian was trying to do. I think he was a good canidate to try an go with that strategy too. The problem is, if you can't hold him there, BJ is better on his feet, even with the reach disadvantage, and if you hold on too long, and aren't successful in attacking in the clinch, he can take you to the ground, and there is none better at 155 than him. I though Florian fought tough, and hung around, it reminded me a little of GSP/Fitch, where you knew who was better, but it was cool to see the other guy stand up straight and give it what he's got. BJ looked great in this fight, his physique looked solid, and I hope he never moves from 155, and just keeps on pounding guys until he walks into the HOF.

Anderson Silva Vs. Forrest Griffin - This was one of the more impressive fights that I've seen from Silva, and maybe any fighter. I simply cannot believe that at one point he just dropped his hands to his side, like he has with some other guys (Cote, Thales), and baited Forrest in. It's one thing to do that to Cote and Leites, but Forrest is a big, tough, former title holder, and Silva just said, come on in and get it. I was very impressed that Silva was able to basically to toy with Forrest, and really just showcased how much better he is than Forrest, and while I knew that Silva was better, the gap that he showed was far greater than I thought. I know Silva is talking about moving to 205 and staying there, but I think that is a mistake. There are only two fights for sure on the horizon that he has to take at 185 and that Hendo and Marquardt/Maia. They should still schedule those, and then just work on getting him more fights at 205. He doesn't want to fight Machida anyway, so it's not like his next fight will be for the belt, so keep fighting at 185, because it's good for the weight class, and good for the sport for him to fight more often.

Amir Sadollah Vs. Johny Hendricks - I felt bad for Amir here because he did start off (while it was a short start) looking pretty good. I like the way he was moving in the cage, and I thought he looked confident. I actually have no problem with the stoppage because if you look at from Mirgliotta's view, all he see's is Amir on all four's getting swung at by Hendricks. All Amir had to do was put one hand up on the side of his head to show that he was defending himself and the fight would have continued. He didn't, so the fight got stopped, I have no issue with that.

I would have no problem with the Amir Stoppage if there was a consistancy
with the referee decisions. Like last night with Miguel Torres' fight. He
had to have been hit 5-6 times after he was out completely defenseless.

I was glad to see Penn control his fight. It was the best that I have seen
him look in while, especially condition wise.

Griffin, well obviously his limited skills was quite apparent. Especially speed wise.
I was thoroughly impressed with Silva.

why'd forest run after getting his butt kicked?

Dislocated his jaw and lost hearing in one ear. Second time doing this doesn't look good at all though. One of the most dissapointing and confusing fights I have ever seen..

I'm not sure that is true. Those were the initial reports, but since then other stuff has come out saying that is incorrect.

when i was watching this fight i couldnt believe that Silva would drop his hands like that, like Hamato said forrest is a big tough guy that hits very hard. it was shocking, Silva is just too dominating, i have been thinking for 3 days who would be the best opponent for him and i dont think there is anybody that could get this guy on the ground except for Henderson and only because hes done it before. should there be a Silva VS Henderson 2? i say yes but can Henderson win, thats the Ultimate question. we as fans love to see a champion but we also like to see them get beat. we have all seen fighters that are unbeatable-liddell, hughes, GSP etc. but when they get beat they get beat hard. who can do this? who can beat the unbeatable? i would like to see Shogun, Henderson 2, GSP, Machida, Cro Cop....
