Update: I just watched the entire fight again and counted actual strikes and kicks landed round by round. Yes, without the sound of annoying Rogan to sway the fight. Machida won this easily. The first 3 rounds he won easily with more strikes and kicks landed. Not only did he win the first 3 rounds, he landed the more effective strikes. Even in rounds 4 & 5 were closer than what I read on the play by play blogs on Sherdog, MMA Weekly, and Bloody Elbow. Those bloggers are wrong! Watch the fight again and score it round by round by actual strikes and kicks landed.

i'm curious, what did you score the strikes at?

fightmetric has it as 82 to 42 total. both having rua landing more strikes.

how random... well if you really wanted my opinion..... Rua won.... though it was really a stale chess match where one guy scored more pawns than the other.... no significant kills.... both are a couple of my favorite fighters but i was bias towards Machida... i wanted him to keep his mistque.... either way... the rematch will be interesting..... toss up..... Shogun could probably employ the same stratgy unless Machida learns to throw hooks......

seemed to me that Rua landed more shots by a good margin. That was just a quote I found and not my opinion.

Machida DID NOT do anything on that fight.

Came out of shape and was tired after 2-3 rounds.

Got beat up by Shogun who was a superior fighter even after two knee surgeries in the past he is still going.

Shogun hesitaded too much to atack Lyoto. Should have knocked that guy out. If there were two more rounds, the karate fighter would have been in a coma right now.

Also, If Lyoto Machida was a real man and had Samurai PRIDE and HONOR he would have recognized the LOSS and headed the belt to shogun.

For me he is a coward with all his team and the new UFCs marketing boy(sells more than Shogun = better $$ )

The point is Machida, there is no Samurai Honor to accept this loss after they paid you 1.000.000 dollars, right?

Yes, there will be a remach.

I am mostly upset with the referees, especially that Cecils People.

I will never pay $50 to watch an UFC event again if all the rules are not going to be reviewed and mostly changed.

Joke, Joke, Joke, Rob, Rob, Rob!!!!!!!!!!!!!:irked:

wow, that's pretty passionate to create a new mfk acct just to come post your opinion on here. I'm sure you have another user name on here.

that's your opinion along with the majority, even I thought Rua won but I think it was not that much of a robbery as most see it.

Yes it was. You know why? Because they gave the win for Machida on an UNANIMOUS decision.

I am fan for sure, but not crazy about it... I liked MMA way more before UFC had bought Pride.

Prefer my cichlids and aquariums way more than UFC and all that :)
