** UFC 113 - Machida vs. Shogun 2 **

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I did'nt see the show but it seems like a waste for Dana white to pull the plug on Kimbo after the loss to Mitrione. My whole point of bringing in slice would be to use his name and popularity by pitting him against my top guy whom Slice would make look good by losing to.

i'm happy for shogun but i felt bad for machida. i would've felt the same way regardless of who won. but now i'm stoked about what may happen next. I think Shogun should defend against winner of rashad/rampage, who i think shogun will win, then defend his belt against anderson silva. shogun already stated he don't have a problem fighting anderson

Kos did what I thought he'd do, good for him but i was a little dissappointed he didnt' bang with daley like he said he would but who can blame him. that fight was just full of scandalous stuff. the knee from daley to a down kos, and kos faking like it hurt him. then the sucker punch after the bell. daley tried to say he didn't know the fight was over and he didnt' hear the buzzer, but yea, dana obviously didn't buy it. he got what he deserved, sucks because he brought some excitement to the division.

kimbo cant' hang with mma. too bad for him, but it went the way i expected.

it was a good night for mma overall. too bad all the canadians lost, i think it was all of them,......

All the Canadians but one :nilly: Then Koscheck went out and predicted the Penguins game and Pitts won ! :banhim:

As far as the phantom knee incident . A lot of people and even unfortunately the announcers wont give Koscheck a break. Problem with that is in the rumble fight Koscheck actually did get an eye poke the replay barely missed it but there are tons of clear pictures of it around.
This time around the only reason I am inclined to believe Koscheck is I was yelling Kos was getting eye gouged seconds before the replay then what I believe happened was the knee scraped across his eye and he took his time as anyone with an eye injury should.
If you get a chance to watch it again notice how the abrasion on his nose and the clear damage to his eye doesn't occur until the seconds of the illegal knee.
My opinion is something dirty happened. I don't like it and I also don't like Koscheck never have but Daley showed us all what a classless fool he is after the fight :screwy:

i think koscheck saw daley throw that kick and relized he was gonna get knocked out. when he saw that the kick didnt hit him he tried to fake it and have daley disqualified. when the judges reviewed the tape they saw that daley didnt even touch him. but koscheck did a good job on trying to fake the injury because daley should not of thrown that kick it was very illegal koscheck was still on the floor. im glad daley got his ass kicked, and i cant believe he also tried to sucker punch koscheck after the fight. what a sore loser.

and cheeers to sho gun for making the fight end fast.

Some thoughts:

Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua - Good for Shogun. When he came over, I, along with a ton of people believed that he would one day be champion, I think we all thought it would be sooner, but I'm glad he's there. He is an exciting fighter, and will be a tough out for anybody.
Machida got hit pretty good, but I still feel that Shogun's style is just an antidote for Machida. If Machida keeps fighting, I expect that he will still win the far majority of his fights.

Josh Koscheck vs. Paul Daley - Good job Kos. He did what he should have done. These Brit's need to find out how to work on their ground game more if they want to have any real success in mma. As for the illegal knee, I don't have a problem with what Kos did, I don't know if it really hit or not, but the blame should be on Daley for throwing an illegal knee, not on Kos for his reaction.
I cannot wait for Kos/GSP, and I think that this version of Kos has the best shot of the current 170's to beat GSP.

Sam Stout vs. Jeremy Stephens - Pretty good fight. I thought if Stout could make it out of the first round and a half he would win, and it almost went that way. This was a real close fight, and a rematch might not be a bad idea.

Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione - Not good, for either guy. Mitrione will get demolished as soon as he fights a real opponent, and Kimbo was ugly. I know that Kimbo is cut now, but if he wants to keep after it, he needs to cut to 205, and get rid of all that bulky muscle. He will never be able to compete with that physique.

Patrick Cote vs. Alan Belcher - Really good fight. I'm a big Belcher guy, so it was nice to see him be more patient, and pick his spots with Cote. Cote looked better than I thought he would in his comback fight. Both guys are above average in that class.

I don't think he was faking considering Koscheck told Dan Mirgliotta that the knee didn't land - which is why there was no point deduction. He also said he took the time because of an eye-poke.
