Rampage was out of gas on his stomach getting punched in the face at the end of the fight.

And to everyone upset at Rashad how about Rampage landing like 3 punches and barely being an aggressor to Rashad when he wasn't getting dominated in the clinch on the ground. Rampage fans should be upset he came in out of shape and with a weaker game plan and was timid.
I have'nt gotten a chance to see the fight yet but untill now it seems like you are the only one that has posted comments that gel with the fight break downs that I've read on the MMA sites. It seems like Rashad stuck to his plan and fought his fight(despite all of the knock out hype)and won the fight.Someone even said that they've lost the respect that they've had for Rashad after his win but it sounds like he almost knocked Rampage out in the first round...I can't wait to see it.

He worked Rampage good. KOing rampage has really only been done arguably twice. He did a great job and completely nullified Rampages striking using his speed and agility. He really only got caught once. Meanwhile he caught Rampage once . Out struck rampage out grappled rampage and then remained pretty busy on the ground. People that don't understand grappling / ground and pound really cant appreciate the fight . In reality though if people just want to see a stand up war they can go watch K1 or boxing :) this is MMA :grinno:

Nice ill look into it. Im technically in Davis and Tracy's shootfighting academy is close by and they have some really insane paces and good workouts so I am pretty busy with them and then I just brush up my wrestling once a week or twice as well as some submissions. I definitely love grappling and the ground game I need to incorporate more BJJ but im moving back to Monterey in a month (Next to SC actually...)

I said before the fight that the difference was going to be Rashad's wrestling and his speed. If his wrestling wasn't effective, he would not win this one. And he ended up winning, because his wrestling was effective.

Some was saying that Rampage didn't look like himself, and that he should've been more aggressive. I don't think that's the case. Rashad was too quick. Rampage couldn't find him and when he did Rashad clinched or went for takedowns. Rampage came in good shape, he didn't gas. The fight would have been over if he didn't miss 3-4 punches in the third after he dropped Rashad. Watching the replay, when Rashad fell, Rampage followed him down and missed like 4 punches. After that split second, Rashad was going to get up and Rampage had to stop punching to try to hold Rashad down.

My only criticism on Rampage was when Rashad got up, he seemed to still be hurt, but why Rampage didn't try to attack and go for the finish? I don't know. That was his only chance to win the fight but he sat back and let Rashad gain his composer, then got a takedown and landed punches himself. That was the moment when the fight slipped from Rampage.

I'm still a Rampage fan, I can appreciate Rashad's skills. He came in with the right game plan and did what he had to do to win. Can't hate on him for that.

Rampage may be setup to fight Machida next. :headbang2It would be awesome if they got Shogun/Rashad, Rampage/Machida and Lil Nog/Forrest on one card
