They're fighting? Did I miss this?
I would argue that the hardest hitter is Shane Carwin. He also got KOed by Arlovski.
Maybe you missed the part where I agreed he has great skill. Maybe you missed the question - are you comparing a grappling tournament in 2003 (Nelson vs Mir) to Lesnar vs Mir? I don't understand how you can say Lesnar is cocky, but Nelson isn't? Really?
Are you suggesting that Nelson is the best in the HW division? If so, why is he not champ? If not, why isn't he? My assertion was that he should cut some weight, stop talking about "whoppers," and work hard to move down to 205.
As far as KO power, he has 2 KOs in his career, and a few TKOs for strikes (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_nelson), so I guess it's KO power, but I wouldn't label him as a KO fighter.
Being fat isn't a good combination for a professional MMA fighter. You'll find that the vast majority of fighters that excel in their craft are ones that fight at their appropriate body weight. Fedor is the most notable exception. However, Fedor hasn't been (and won't be) anything important in the HW division.
I too, am a Fedor fan, but his involvement with the Russian mob (allegedly) has focused his career in a direction of irrelevance. Had he moved to fight real competition, he would be in a much better position to be the greatest fighter on the planet. His management has blocked any UFC contracts with ridiculous demands (they wanted a stadium to be built in Russia for Fedor).
His last 3 fights have been indicative of a fighter on the downslide (although still amazing). He was getting outboxed until Andre "Glassjaw" Arlovski found a way to lose. Rogers was beating on him pretty well until he got stopped. And getting tapped by Werdum isn't the way he thought his loss would come, was it? But getting tapped to a champion like Werdum isn't a bad thing, but you would expect more from the best in the world, right?
And please, whenever you take a breath, use a period. It makes things much easier to read.
