What happened to Lesnar? It looked like he just went to his knee for no reason? Did he break his hand or something?

that's what they call a shot to the liver. he didn't drop for no reason. a clean hit to the right side of the body, delayed reaction and sudden agonizing pain which leaves them trying to breath. a shot like that will drop anybody, doesn't matterhow big or tough you are. i've never eaten a shot to the liver before but i hear it's not fun. i know people who train that have been hit there and they say they'd rather get punched in the jaw

boxers have been ko'd by those kinds of shots with punches, i repeate, with punches. now imagine taking a kick, i repeat, a kick to the liver from a 265+ pound K-1 champion.

I have been liver punched K.O.'d before in boxing, I have never been shot by a gun.....but I KNOW it has to feel like that. Hurts for a while after too.

Good point and where have you been Sumo?....Just look back at what Bernard Hopkins did to Oscar De la Hoya and what Roy Jones Jr. did to Virgil Hill a few years before that...

haha, yea i agree. but i've heard that people who get shot, many times they don't even realize they been shot.

exactly. Bas Ruten's favorite spot to hit :D

I don't see how Junior can beat Ubereem just because of his hand speed. He may be competitive on his feet, but I can't see him beating Overeem that way. Then again, I thought Cain would be able to be competitive w/ Junior on his feet and look how that turned out...maybe I'm underestimating JDS, but I do think besides Alistair, he has the best stand-up in the HW division.

yea anything can definitely happen with these big guys. but overall, i give the edge to jds. sure, overeem is a more decorated striker. he's good enough to compete at the top level in k-1 and he's got the size and strength to use it in mma. he's a top 5 in the hw division in all of mma right now as far as striking goes.

the thing i'm not sure of at this time is, can jds take a punch and overcome adversity? he's never been hurt, never been in real trouble or never been outstriked so when put in that situation i can't say how he will do. he's like what? a purple belt in bjj, but we don't know how good he really is on the ground. i thought cain would be the first guy to test his ground game but lucky for him that he landed a devestating punch and was able to finish cain early.

but we CAN say that overeem has given up and has been toppled by strikers. i think he doesn't have a great chin and in the passed, when facing true top competition in the past, he's come up short. in fact, it showed in the werdum rematch that cardio improvement is a MUST if he wants to be successful in the UFC. If he gasses like that against jds, he's going into la la land, i guarantee it. jds has shown that he can go at a pretty high pace for 3 rounds. in fact, i would have my money on cain if he ever fought overeem. jmo

I'd definitely give the chin edge to Dos Santos. I seem to recall Carwin and Big Country both landing some clean shots on him, and Overeem's been knocked out by worse/less powerful and explosive strikers than Dos Santos. Overeem's chin looks decent in K1 due to having larger gloves to cover up with, a luxury MMA doesn't provide.

would def be interesting if it went to the ground...i guess anywhere it goes will be. You're def right about his cardio and what will probably happen if it goes to the championship rounds. One thing I know for sure is if JDS takes a liver kick like Brock did it's all over.
