UFC 85 BEDLAM

I was shocked that forest beat Rua, but I think that was more Rua's doing really, he barely camp problems, and basically didn't take forest seriously.

Credit to forest, he fought well, but I find it hard to believe he would beat Rua ta his best, and I also struggle to imagine him beign competitive with Rampage. I think Rampage destroys him.

Bisping is overrated, he's not a bum, but he's simply not that good. I don't know who his opponent is though. Is this day fella much good?

Here's hoping Alves hammers hughes.

UFC is losing its appeal for me, I know they own the WEC, but the card they had this weekend was about 100 times better than UFC 85. The next Ultimate Fight Night Live card is awful. Kendall Groves vs. Evan "grandpa" Tanner as a main event is plain and simple ridiculous. Kendall Grove is a good fighter and Tanner is a former champ but neither of those guys belong in a main event fight. I write for an MMA promotion and I am a MMA judge too, maybe the ring side seats make me jaded; but I love the smaller shows so much more. You never see a guy at the small shows who is afraid of contact (Starnes anyone?) and you almost never have to sit through a lay-and-pray fight. If you enjoy MMA, do yourself a favor and go to a live show! Seeing guys who are not superstars might not seem appealing on the surface, but these fighters are HUNGRY.

zerelli what's the pay like for these smaller shows?

I know that UFC paydays are absolutely pathetic compared to boxing, and it seems like they couldn't get much less :D A lot of UFC fighters don't even get paid enough to cover their training and medical expenses.

Jardine got 10,000 dollars to get KO'd by wandy.

That's just insane. Absolutely preposterous. Jardine is a fighter on the world stage, and he's beaten Forest and Lidell, and he makes 10,000 for a fight :O

I think the reason why Rua lost was more about his injury. I agree that if totally healthy, Rua would dominate Griffin.

I watch all MMA and boxing matches free. Sopcast is superb :D

And if you have an old CRT kicking about, the quality looks much, much better on it than on a high res TFT monitor or HDTV.

Ok , I'm thinking about starting a league on UFC.com for fantasy. That's the only way you can win their prizes is if you have a league. So, Midnight I know you just started playing, but you aren't a mma noob, so would you want in? How about you Rumble, do you play? I have a couple other guys who will probably join, so let me know if your interested.
