Rashad Evans Vs. Lyoto Machida - I'm right down the middle with this one. It's kind of difficult to imagine how this fight is going to go down. What I'm going to go on though is that I know that Rashad Evans throws some great combinations. He does a great job at putting punches together, even against very good opponents. His combo also tend to have quite a few punches in them. This is a great talent to have with most opponents. I'm not sure that it's great to have with Machida though. I think what might happen is, Rashad is going to throw some of those great combo's at Machida, and when (could be if) Machida can evade initially, he will have a great counter-striking opportunity. I'm picking this fight, Machida by unanimous decision, even though I hate decisions in title fights, I think Machida will probably pick him apart, but with not many real hard blows. Having said that, if one of Rashad's combo's catched Machida and drops him in the 1st, I won't be that surprised.

Matt Hughes Vs. Matt Serra - I'm not sure how much Matt Hughes has left in the tank. Knowing that, I still think he'll take Serra. I don't think that Serra is even that good of a fighter. I think Hughes can still over-power a guy like Serra, and he should do that.

Drew McFedries Vs. Xavier Foupa-Pokam - Drew is a guy I normally like because he's pretty aggressive, but I also like Pokam. I thought he would win his first fight in the UFC against Kang, but lost in a decision. I expect him to bounce back here vs. Drew and get a win.

Sean Sherk Vs. Frank Edgar - I think Sherk is still a very good fighter. I expect him to win here, and against most in the lightweight class. His only issue that I see right now is that since he has so much muscle on that small of a frame his punches, while hard, are a little short, and I think it's because he isn't getting full extension because of that muscle. With that in mind, when guys get in close, and the lightweights like to, Sherk can exchange with the best of them.

Krzysztof Soszynski Vs. Andre Gusmao - Krzysztof is one of my guys so I hope he can get another win here. He's already earned some brownie points by taking the fight on short notice, but a win will get him a higher profile fight in the upcoming year.

Yoshiyuki Yoshida Vs. Brandon Wolff - Judo guys rock. Yoshida for the win.

Dave Kaplan Vs. George Roop - Why?

I'm also interested to see if Pat Barry can get a win or if he'll have to drop, and also if Nover can put together a good fight.

Rashad Evans Vs. Lyoto Machida --- I don't even know where to begin. I have to go with Lyoto though solely based on the fact he has never lost a round and Rashad has. However I think Rashad could win, but the odds aren't wrong. Lyoto is a better fighter on paper, however that doesn't mean much if Evans lands one of those big shots.

Matt Hughes Vs. Matt Serra -- Serra all the way. I don't like Hughes. I think Hughes can beat him but I hope Serra pulls of the upset.

Drew McFedries Vs. Xavier Foupa-Pokam - Bleh

Dan Miller Vs. Chael Sonnen - Miller hopefully, Chael annoys me.

Sean Sherk Vs. Frank Edgar - I don't care for either fighter that much but I like Edgar better but I'll be rooting for him.

Brock Larson Vs. Chris Wilson - Larson.

Pat Barry Vs. Tim Hague - Berry, he is an absolutely devistating striker.

Phillipe Nover Vs. Kyle Bradley - Nover all day.

Krzysztof Soszynski Vs. Andre Gusmao - K-SOS!

Yoshiyuki Yoshida Vs. Brandon Wolff--- meh

Dave Kaplan Vs. George Roop --- meh

After watching the UFC hype show for this PPV I am going to go with Lyoto who I think may actually stop Evans.

Rashad Evans Vs. Lyoto Machida Goin with Machida (Just hopin) Evans pulls off some of the weirdest and off timed KO's...

Matt Hughes Vs. Matt Serra (Going with Hughes) Would like to see Serra Win.. Just don't know if he has what it takes... Hopefully his mental game has Hughes wondering.. Still Hughes in my opinion is the better fighter. Though...If Serra Is on time.. LIke he was the First GSP fight..Hughes has a Serious problem on his hands :D
IF it is Grudge match whe they get in the octogon.. Serra... His mental game inside of conflict is just better :)

Drew McFedries Vs. Xavier Foupa-Pokam

Thoughts:

Rashad Evans Vs. Lyoto Machida - This fight was pretty fun to watch. It started slow, but really you could see how these two really talented fighters were trying to feel each other out. The only real action of note in the first round was Machida's head kicks I think there were 3 of them, soit looked like he might have saw a gap there. Machida took the first round, but it wasn't like he did a ton of damage. The second round had more action in it, and the exchange the guys had where Machida let a combination loose that was really good, only to be followed immediately by a combo unleashed by Evans that was furious. That exchange really showed how talented these two are. After that Machida caught Evans and dropped him. Evans did a good job at trying to hang around, but Machida kept on him and eventually landed a shot that put Evans down for good.
Machida looked really good in this fight, and before this fight the only thing that I was worried about with Machida is because of his style if the fans started getting on him for being "boring" that he would step up his pace and make a mistake. After the fight I don't worry about that much because it really seemed that the crowd was behind him in the arena, and they definetly were where I was watching the fight.
I was also more impressed with Evans in this fight than I have been in his others. He actually had a good approach I thought to getting Machida and if another fight happened I bet he would feel like he could put up a good fight. Most guys in the UFC will have a tough time with Machida because over-aggression plays into his style, but his defeat of Evans shows that's not all he is. I'm looking forward now to Rampage and Machida, because Rampage's strength might be a trump card for Machida's style.

Matt Hughes Vs. Matt Serra - Basically Serra caught Hughes once with a punch (looked like to the back of the head) but besides that Hughes dominated this fight. You could see that Hughes is no where near as powerful as he used to be, but this form of Hughes is more than enough to beat Serra. Again Serra showed his "respect" after this fight to Hughes, but for me, I am sick of Serra talking trash about how good he is and how much of a bum everyone else is, then when he gets beat he acts like he's being respectful.

Drew McFedries Vs. Xavier Foupa-Pokam - This fight was awesome, especially since it came after Miller and Sonnen which was not that entertaining. Everybody knew this was going to end quick, and it did. Drew is a beast, it would be nice if he could put together a couple fights, but I think he is probably no more than a gate keeper. Pokam is disappointing. He has a ton of talent, but you have to win your fights, no body is going to give you wins based on potential.

Dan Miller Vs. Chael Sonnen - Not much to report here, it was a blowout. My only issue is that Lavigne didn't stand them up a couple times.

Sean Sherk Vs. Frank Edgar - I'm serious when I say this, Sherk needs to try and shed some of his muscle, especially on his arms. His biceps are so big that it stops him from being able to fully extend his arm for a punch. If you get in close to him, he is powerful, it reminds me of Jax's piston punch in Mortal Kombat. Edgar stayed outside for the most part, moved well, and was better. There is no excuse for a guy with Sherk's talent to not be winning these fights.

Krzysztof Soszynski Vs. Andre Gusmao - Another win for K-Sos. He will prove to be the best fighter from last season's TUF. His stand-up is very, gasp, Liddell-esque in the sense that his arms are kind of spread out instead of being up and tight. With more training he can become a very good fighter.

a great show .. loved it ... would still would have liked to see serra take hughes out but i know hughes is the better fighter . so i will deal with it lol
