Looks like Evans was annihilated which was what I thought would happen.Hopefully he can recover from this and continue,er restart his winning ways.

Yes, he got destroyed.

i've been following machida since he first beat franklin. been a fan of his since and was excited about his coming to UFC. I predicted he'd be champ in '09. I was right. I also think he will hold his title against rampage, shogun, forrest if he ever gets a chance, Hendo and even Anderson Silva if they ever agreed to it

Kudos to you if you really called that. The guy has skills for sure. I can't wait to see him and Rampage throw down.

I think most guys will have a tough time with Machida because of his style, but Rampage is one guy who may be able to neutralize Machida's style with his strength. It's kind of ironic that probably the one guy best suited for beating Machida in that weight class, will probably be his first opponent.

I really do not see what Rampage has to offer that thiago silva, ortiz, evans, or sokoudjou didnt.... hell Quintin still cant check leg kicks.... imo Rampage is a very one demensional fighter whos been put in the spotlight for this charisma....... when he first started fighting in japan.... they marketed him as a "crazy homeless" guy from the streets.....:nilly:

I guess I just disagree. I think Rampage should still have the belt, and he has beaten some guys that are at the top of that class, and the last few in a quick turnaround.
Rampage is a smarter fighter than he looks. I wasn't a Rampage guy when he first came in, but he has won me over and I think he still could be the best fighter in this weight, and if not for a dicey decision to Griffin, could be on his 3rd or 4th title defense.
Rampage is far stronger than those guys you listed and definitely better on his feet than all of those guys except maybe Soku, but he has sputtered out too.
Also, Thiago is good on his feet, but he is super aggressive, this is not how Rampage fights. He may have quite a few knock outs, but he is far smarter on his feet than the typical puncher.
I'm not saying he will win, I'll have to give it more thought, but I think he's got a great shot.

well anyone can "catch" anyone any given day..... if Machida hopes to stay champ he should probably retort to his earlier stradigy of elusive striking and conservative aggression.... the only pocket for mistake happens when he rushes in fully commited.....
