They hold all the cards though. There is only one other organization that has any commercial success Strikeforce. Most of there fighters are former UFC guys who were let go because they lost too many times. Dana and Fertida bros have a huge monopoly here and it's not going to change any time soon.

agreed.

I hope Kimbo gets another chance after some more training, but he lost fair and square. He even said he was disappointed, but proud of his progress and improvements. Yes, it was a lame win, but Kimbo couldn't defend himself and the ref let if go on in the first round. The difference with the second round was that there was a lot of time left and Kimbo was stuck there. I love how people "complain" about weight, but the original (and my fav, imo) had no weight classes. 30-40 pounds is nothing compared to Royce and others beating people that weighed twice that much more.

there can be only one highlander!!!!!! .... wow i called that kimbo fight. honestly though, the fight was very lackluster and boring. at one point it just looked like a schoolyard fight when a bigger kid just lays on top of a younger kid and pummels him.... not ground and pound, more like all roy was thinking about was getting that whopper after the fight. he didn't go for the KO or any submissions and the way he fought, you would never know he has a BJJ background. IMO roy is not going to be an entertaining fighter if he gets through TUF

Someone leaked it that is why the rumors were out months ago about him losing.
That is also why Dana came out and said that Kimbo will still get a shot in the UFC,
win or lose, cause he was doing damage control.

It was really boring to watch that fight.

the fight was horrible it was jus a big fatass laying on a lighter guy and tapping him on the head! no skill involved, jus lame.

I disagree completely.
The fact that one guy had so much more skill than the other is the exact reason why the fight went the way that it did. Roy transistioned easily while on the ground while Kimbo had no defense because his skill level on the ground is nowhere near Roy's.

Roy definitely has much more skill than kimbo, the problem that I have
is that he is trying to get a contract with the UFC and he comes to
TUF so overweight. :screwy: Not the best way to impress Dana and the UFC.
Would make you wonder if he would even dedicate himself once he gets
a 6 figure contract.

did you hear what Dana was saying about him? He said that Roy looks like he's out of shape, etc., but he isn't. That's normal for him. Dana knows who he is and if he was so worried about him being overweight, he wouldn't have put him on the show. I'm sure he's concerned about how he fights on the show, not about that. I was impressed by how he turned from being uncoachable to wanting to get help from others and I bet that impressed Dana, also. If he wins, he gets a contract, so it doesn't matter if he impresses Dana or not (unless, of course, he loses :D )

I also didn't find the fight that boring. At first it was when they were just circling around, but then they started striking. Kimbo was clearly the better striker (he better be), but Roy was more clearly the better on the ground and the fight proved that. He didn't even have to use his jiu jitsu to win. Kimbo will get better since he is a quick learner and I hope he does.

FTR, I've never seen a Kimbo street fight and I'm trying to keep it that way :D I'm not into the hype from that.
