just take it. you got photographic evidence. show you parents. if they dont side with you they need a :nutkick:

She got the monitor before she moved in with us. I told my dad I am going to tell her I was going to take if if she doesn't take better care for it. She only got the boa because I wanted one and she got the Savannah monitor because she saw one eat a rat and because I wanted it. Would I be able to keep the 2 monitors together? I would separate as soon as aggression showed of course. If so minimum tank size for them together?

not sure on that, but it needs taken from her. show your dad. show the pics. show what one should look like. I severly doubt he will side with her.

He has seen hers and mine. He doesn't really care about animals like I do. Heck he doesn't care about me a great amount but I am not getting into that on here. But I don't need his permission. I rarely ask for that anymore. I just need her to get home so I can have a talk with her. Probably will in the morning. Before i go to school and her work. I will try them together when the cage is built(8-10'x4'x4'). In till then they will stay in separate cages. That way they will have room and not have to be extremely close to eachother.

Ok, so I am very new here, but I have to say that what she has done to that beautiful reptile is disgusting. Can you try to go to your dad and ask to have an adult convo? I used to do this with my dad back when I lived at home. I would ask for an appointment so he knew I meant business, I would get him away from the TV, and I would talk to him in facts, not emotion. Either way, get the Sav away from her, she will end up killing it, it will be super aggressive if she won't handle it, and she will have to give it to someone else anyway. I hope you get it from her and I hope everything turns out well. Good Luck!!

Welcome to the site
But I told him that it's going to die if not taken care of better asap. He just shrugged. But I am going to take it from her whether either of them like it. It deserves a much better owner then her. If I had something to hold against her for the boa I would take that too. I know I will find something here soon to be able to get that from her also. Also when I do take her Sav away I won't handle it in till it is fattened up. I don't want to put to much stress on it. Mine has no issues with handling thankfully. She claims that hers puffs up and hisses if you get close to it in the tank which it did not do when I was giving it a pinky. I put my hand right next to him and it didn't puff or hiss.

You are doing the best possible things in a crappy situation. Hang in there, focus on getting it fattened up and then handleable. You are doing the best for this Sav, and I applaud you for it.;)

I did the same thing with my ball python but the ball was worse off taken care of but the Sav is much more under weight. I know I can make this Sav better and also know if something isn't done quick he won't make it. How many pinkys should I feed him a week in till he is fattened up some. I will also try cut up HB eggs. As he gains more weight I will slow down on the pinkys and go to the mainly insect diet.

good thing the skinny sav is responding to food. good luck. and when youre at the right age, move out and take all the animals with you.
