Hello; Much will depend on what kind of wood is used some soft wood will deform as you say. It also will depend on the end of the metal leg. Some of my metal stands are only angle iron with no pad at all. A 110 will weigh enough to dent a hardwood floor without some sort of pad to spread the weight. Over time I have gone to using metal shims which avoids the compression.
Metal washers can be had of various diameters and thicknesses if you do not have any scrap metal lying about.
