So the filter I am doing is a wet/dry cool.

Thank You Conner and BadOleRoss, I guess I will get a 2-3 powerheads.

Should I have the powerheads create a circular flow or criss cross flow?
Also would it be good to make the powerheads into funtioning sponge filters also?

What would be a good gph rating on the powerheads?

All you need to do is setup the tote high enough off the ground that you can still get a syphon (sp?) but at the same time if the power goes out the water level of the tub meets the water level of the tote and will not overflow.

You would have a inlet on the tote that brings water to the tote and a pump in the tote to return to the tank.

(I'm planning on doing something similar with 2 300 tubs and one 75 gallon sump. )

As far as where to point the power heads, just try to get good circulation and eliminate any dead zones. Koop171, good idea on raising the tub, never thought of that.
