Woke up this morning to the top of my water looking like this... Can anyone tell me why?

Also, side question.... I got the FX5, and I think I need more media in it.... If I just turn the valves from the input and output to close them, and then attach a hose to the bottom part on the fx5 and drain all that, won't the filter be MOSTLY empty? Allowing me to add more media..

Re: the FX5..Yes that should allow you to move the canister out from beneath the stand with ease. Open it up and add what you want. Just curious, what media are you running in the FX5?

I'm not sure about the bubbles on the surface...

Looks like lots of bubbles. Are they coming from your new canister filter? It could be that the new filter output churned up the dissolved organics in your tank water creating foam almost like a protein skimmer.

Temp is 76-77.. media is the fluval ceramic rings in bottom 2 and pre media in top.. plan is to get scrubbies for the top and another box of ceramic rings to fill bottom 2

Also, I turned my filter off for a minute to feed my fish (feed them bloodworms and they get sucked right into the filter) and the bubbles started to slowly go away

& sorry, i'm on my phone and can't edit my previous post so I have to double post.. my apologies ):

No. I know nothing about adding salt or anything salt related lol

Is the filter brand new? Did you use any soap to clean anything recently? There is an issue the FX5 had but I cannot remember it off hand. I have 2 and never had any issue... Are you running one of those water clarifier things?? I think the issue was with something that would go into one of the media trays.
