Having a few aggression problems with my thorichthys helleri as well, thinking of getting a few more females

There's a sticky here written by RD, about "Hexamita", which is what your fish have. Treat them now while they're still eating. Fish that small, if they get so sick they quit eating, are gonna be hard to force feed.

The sticky is in the beginning of this forum, or the diseases forum. It's very good, I've used it myself, and it explains how to use Epsom Salt solution, what it is, how it works, and why you should use it.

Also, there's an NLS pellet called "Hex Shield"--it's epsom salt, and some other med's, too. A bag of Epsom salt is cheaper, it works, and it's at the drug store right by your house--so I just use that.

Thanks I will look for that sticky. This med treats hexamita. I have this and epsom salt too.

Sorry to hear your having problems Steve.
I agree with Dan and would try the Epson salts.
On to the subject of aggression.I noticed an increase in aggression amongst my helleri when I moved them to a bigger tank.It seems the more crowded these cichlids are the less aggression you get from them.
I am not someone who believes in overcrowding c/a cichlids but higher numbers should help with aggressive issues.
I remember a few years back I had six meeki in my 7x2x2, they were constantly fighting one another I added 16 more meeki and had no aggressive issues at all.The fish were not packed in like sardines. Its but there was enough to quell any aggressive issues.

Dan,what temperature are you keeping your helleri at?
Anything over 75 tends to make them more aggressive.
