Again Jellybean parrot DO not have any parrot blood.

And again, I will ask for your proof. Show me links, show me pics, show me something. All you've done so far is spout off worthless guesses.

It would also go a long way for me to take you seriously if you could improve your grammar a bit.

I feel so offended by your last comment...English is not my language.

Anyways heres the link:

Lots of threads discussed about the Jellybeans on here so take your time to read these threads.

Here's the TRUE blood parrot x pink convict hybrid picture

I know you say you'll either kill them or keep them but I know I'm not alone when I say I'd be interested in buying a couple depending on quality.

My apologies. I assumed you were a local boy based upon your name.

I know the person who owns this fish. He is a member on a forum that I mod. I'll find exactly what it is and what he believes a "jellybean parrot" is.

It would seem that I stand corrected.

Jellybean parrots I'm 99% sure are short body convicts. People will say they are parrot/con crosses but almost everyone that will tell you this has just heard it WOM and has not produced the fish themselves...go ahead and ask them to show you proof

I can see how they would think that because of the shape but what of balloon rams or balloon green terrors? You also get people that swear blind that balloon rams are the result of breeding a ram to an angelfish

If anyone has bred pink con to parrot then they(like me)will tell you the resulting fish were quite a varied mix but none turned out pink. The big giveaway comes down to genetics. The pink gene in convicts(and probably other fish)is recessive so to produce pink offspring both parents must carry the pink convict gene and for a female parrot that is just not possible. Also again with genetics the jellybean parrot is a)fertile and b) breeds true. Breeding JB to JB will produce 100% JB fry as it seems the short body gene in convicts is also recessive. The same male JB that bred with my parrot also fathered spawn after spawn with a regular striped female con and all fry were regular cons with about two thirds being striped and a third pink (my female carried the pink gene). The only 2 possible ways to produce a fish that is part parrot and also carries the pink convict gene is to breed a pink con to parrot then breed one of the offspring back to a pink con or breed 2 of the offspring together but I still dont think you would get anything that resembles a JB. This would only work if offspring of the con/parrots were fertile. I only had one attempted spawning between the siblings and at least one was sterile as the eggs were not fertilised.

I still have no proof as to what exactly a JB is, but this is what has me changing my mind
Breeding JB to JB will produce 100% JB fry

If there were parrot genetics in the mix, I would not expect two JB's to breed true...
Again MN Rebel, apologies for my lack of manners.

For all the others who have been following the thread waiting for pics, they are coming. The fry are now about a 1/4 inch long. Most seem darkish in color and will probably turn out to be dirty little convicts. The tank I have them in right now has Eco-complete substrate and it makes it very hard to pick them out of a pic. I would say there are still about 50 or so left making good progress.

Thanks for the postings guys/gals. I actually learned something after reading all that. I was mistaken that red parrot and pink convict make jellybean. Glad I read.
