I run a filter something like that. I really like it. I never under stood how people deal with sump systems. the level of the tank always stays the same and it is not adjustable if you want to run your tank lower. you do not need a vary big pump for something like that. just figure out how much flow you want. Just watch out for the extras. like valves and tubing they can get expensive.

5000 gallons is for a decorative pond no fish. If you stock with fish like we do says it can handle 2100 gallons most likely less... This would be good for an additional filter to your filter system.
Why do you need a filter for a decorative pond? The more plants you have in a pond less filters you need.
What pump do you think will work well yet energy efficient with this filter. For my 240 gallon. I might put it in basement under the tank so probably 8 foot height
