I was thinking along the lines of going to one of the big lfs or a public aquariums with somewhere we can eat and get to know one and other etc.
The big question, is would anyone be interested or even go? Sounds great as a post in a thread but to get someone away from the keyboard and get them there is a different thing.

Going back to the big socal meet, John hosted, various peep gave away free fish, Li sorted the 'I was there' t-shirts etc. someone else did the food. To recreate something like that over her is unrealistic without some sort of support.

We'd need a LFS with great generousity to go that far and there aren't many that size that are big enough to even consider it, public aquariums I can't see doing it either, the only one that comes to mind is Blue planet not far from you, to me been there seen it, others may think blue planet:confused:

I think we'd need the support of the Uk mods to make it an mfk meet. I think the best course of action is to make more friends via the site, get to know each other more and come up with some ideas

where is blue planet? i'll come to the meet....and i dont mind contributing to food either...

actually i just read another post and someone said we should just meet and go somewhere to eat and talk...sounds good for a first time meet. we could go have a look at some fish centres that would have to be our meeting point i guess?

Ellesmere port

BTW, Me and the wife have a little agreement, she can have Mike as long as I can have Sara Tancredi;)

Should give the guys at Bolton aquarium and museum a e mail, these guys are active fishkeepers, sure they would be willing to help.

Hi I am from the UK and would be up for a meet. I live in warrington fyi. It would be very cool if we could get tshirts etc and i would be happy to help if needed.

The blue planet wasn't so impressive imo - however i did love the archer/brackish tank and the otters out the back. I have been to the sealife-center in Blackpool and that was even less impressive. I would go so far as to say it was sh1te with the occasional highlight (the exit).

Ian

I would happily go back to either

if you havnt been to the blue planet before i think you might be a bit unimpressed, i was the last time i went, ive heard that chester zoo has built a new fish house, and in the bat cave there is a big pond with some RTC's and asian aro's.

Yeh Chester's bat cave is really good, but a meet there wouldn't be good, too dark and there is not really anywhere to stand around as its just a path through the exibit. Was at Blue planet recently, its just gone downhill to what it was, the large tropical tank was my fave exibit and fish, but they have lost there 3m Arapiama (:() and its a complete rip off.

Frog exibit is about best thing there now. Except the Vundu ( H longifillis) and the Nile perch.:)

I've been to a meet and behind the scenes trip to the Tower aquarium in Blackpool, not sure what its like now. Could give them a try also.

Can't hurt, which museum are you talking about?

Been to the blue planet twice, once years ago and was quite impressed, once a few months ago and nothing much has changed apart from the giga isn't there any more, so fairly unimpressed that nothings changed.

The one at Blackpool wasn't up to much when I went there either IMO
