I got rid of all my tanks in 2007 and when I started up again late 2011 I was surprised (and annoyed) at how many fish shops had closed in my absence. Guess thats just the economy, but it still blows

Not really top water swimmer, or at least mine wasnt. Alot of time sifting sand and sucking on bogwood. Always seemed to be busy. Cool fish, I really want another! The perch were from a maidenhead aquatics. They were small and plain looking silver fish nothing interesting about them. They were quite expensive I think aswell. They were there for ages and ages and in the end the manager said I could take them both for a tenner. So I thought why not? Ive never seen them before and havnt since.

I haven't, but only cus they've been too skittish. Apparently they are like that till about 4 inches (which they are just hitting now) Mine do seem to be settling down so I'll have a go when I getbhome

Yeah mine are starting to look that way. I dont know how big they are gonna get ive read conflicting reports of 8 and 12 inch. Guess ill have to wait and see. Im looking forward to getting them in the big tank to free up the smaller tank from their murderous tendencies lol

I'm new to cichlids had them for about a year but have had fish for years.
I know what you mean about the fish shops closing there now seems to be a choice between World of Water and Maidenhead Aquatics. Although Oddball Express does orders from the USA from time to time.

Alright sunley im based in Altrincham my mate runs world of water manc , have you tried a-z aquatics near crew and rare aquatics in crew ? both worth a visit
