uk mfkers?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I picked up a grammodes at arundel aquatics in Portsmouth but thos was a long time ago! Oddball express seems to have them regularly. Be warned they are very slow growers and almost impossible to house with tank mates as they grow! That said they are still one of my favourite fish of all time. Mine was also very shy I can't count how many times people asked me why I had an empty tank. I added dithers but he'd slaughter them by night!

I have five in a 30 gallon, they chase each other all the time but its well planted so plenty of places to hide. Hoping to get a nice pair out of them.

Thanks for the info felixxx im sure when I do eventually see one in lfs ill be tempted ( I presume a group of juvis will end up in a mess with one dominant one ?) , ill checkout odd ball express though guys nice one :D

Good luck with the five, if you get a pair they may be a little more outgoing than mine was.

The tank i got mine from had about 6 juvies and i bought the dominant male. Males are easy to spot by the spots that extend below the lateral line.

I'm not saying don't buy one but appreciate they are a real "for the love of it" fish until they get big. Keeping a group may make a big difference though.

Im getting a little jaded lately with whats in the fish shops near me. Theres nothing wrong with the shops per se, but most of the stock seems to be geared towards bread and butter community type situations. Ive found a few online retailers: rare aquatics, trimar, wildwoods seem to stand out as the best ive found. Anyone know of any others that cater to the more unusual?

For Flagtail i would check out pier aquatics in wigan they had a few 8 inches last time i was there.

Oddballs has great choice, they are getting 700 fish from Don Conkel in about a week.

Lol now you are gonna think im never satisfied. They have one, but it's too big. 11-12 inch. I wanted one to grow with the rest of my fish... Thanks for the heads up on pier though. Never realised they were around in that respect. Oh, forgive the ignorance, but who or what is a don conkel?
