Uk owners - where do you get your Food ?

G'afternoon,

Having a spot of trouble with my usual online supplier of Whitebait/lancefish, where else can I look to buy 5Kg at a reasonable price (ie £6 a Kg) ?

have you not try'd a local chinese supermarket? thats where i get all my frozen food from, and if you buy in bulk its allways cheaper.

I take a visit to the fish market every other week and get whitebait 450g for £3 dunno if thats cheap . I also buy what ever he gets in squid , octopus , mussle , prawn . Think i will try the chinese market didnt think of that

I get like 1.2KG of lancefish for about £2.70 from makro and i bought 2.5KG bags of prawn from there too for about £18 and other food too. But you do need a makro card.

ive been using the chinese supermarket for a few years now, i still get funny looks when i buy a full case of squid haha

i only have 1 tank with 5 rays. feed mainly hikari, carnivor,massivor, cichilid gold and earthworm pellets.

i get prawn and mussle from farmfoods but i bet it works out quite expencive if you need loads.

i used to use the indoor market in darlington and buy huge amounts at a time for me and a friend who runs a fish house. we used to buy 20 bags for whitebait, 15 bags of mussel at a time. im sure it was around £4.50 kg. but then he had a hard time getting whitebait and we ended up not getting as much as we wanted each visit and stopped going.

chinese wholesalers best place for the whitebait,if you buy in bulk you get a very good deal.

I am not from the UK, but unless that, I want to tell you, that I am very close getting best friend of my local german Asiashop owner
The reason is, that there are not many crazy germans around, buying about 30 or 40kg shrimps each month.....

RUTO is a very good brand in my eyes, it's of a constantly good quality. I am buying ruto mysis and ruto bloodworms and meanwhile only ruto and no others for my pups and subadult rays in wholesale trade.
