my point is exactly that... im young 23, certainly no expert, i could not begin to wish i kneww half of what people like oddball, poly, E_americanus or anne know about primitive fish but lfs talk out their backsides about anything they dont know about and all the stigmatism that is attached to shops like wharf n wildwoods is bs... thats all i mean.....
on average you would expect a sp/fl to grow some where between .5" - 1" a month from 3" until approx 9-13" when they tend to slow right down.... some dont some slow to growth of under 1" per year.... ive got a 18" still growing 1" bimonthly.... and then my smaller crop started all with in 1" of each other and there is prob 4-5" range in there sizes now.....
Ye wharf and places like that are overated. Its PFK's fault lol.
I love gars and would like to keep one at some point what are they like with other fish (not community fish, fish 8"+) most bigger than 12". And is a 100"x30"x30" big enough for a spotted/florida gar!

Hi chaps sorry for turning this into a forum, i agree with gravy on this,i bought him at 6 inch from wharf in jan08 and i would expect him to be at the very least 13 inches, and did cambo buy his at the same time,perhaps a bad batch or something,as another member on here bought some the same time and hers are 13 inch but even that is a minimum size.!
Anyway im going to get another 2moro and put the other one with him and see what happens,if it dont work out gravy can have him for nothing,the prices are 65 for a 12 or 13 inch and 120 for the 18 inch just to let you know.
And tom 500 your tank is perfect for a gar!
