Now I’m a little frustrated - I placed more Teflon tape on the valves and I still have a tiny leak from both inflow and outflow. Anything I’m doing wrong?
You need this stuff. Blue Monster is what we use where I work on refrigerant handling equipment. It is a bit thicker than regular ptfe tape and works a lot better.
Be careful with it though. It reduces the friction in the joint a lot, so you don’t realize how tight you’re getting the fitting. I recommend getting some of this and then putting the fitting in hand tight plus 1/4 turn. Use about three wraps of this stuff if the fitting is over 3/4” and two if it’s under 3/4”. If that doesn’t work then take it another 1/4 turn. If that still doesn’t work then I’m at a loss. I really think it will work.

If it isn’t excessively tight already it may just need to be tightened a little more. Some pinhole leaks also seal up on their own within a couple days. The tape
Fish Tank Travis posted is awesome stuff as well and super thick
