I took a crocodilians class at the Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary in Athens MI, and the owner trains his alligators to voice commands like that. There's a video of him on his website with his gator that he rescued and raised, Godzilla.
One of the guys that works there with the three footers got into their pen and sat and called them, and these little gators climbed right up into his lap, laid their heads up on his shoulders and legs like house cats. I got to work with the eight footers, and it takes some steeling to be able to walk right up and pat one on the back.

There's no doubt that alligators and crocodiles (especially crocodiles) can REALLY ruin your day if they wanted to, but then again so can dogs and even cats. It's all based on the animal's attitude and the way you behave around them.

thats awesome. It makes you wonder if we have this whole "reptilian brain" stereotype all wrong. I have a few turtles and I have noticed that they can be conditioned and can learn to some degree, but from the sound of what you're saying, crocs and gators must have a much better developed cerebral cortex.

Thats a real man.!!! Belly rub lol!!!!! I think the hardest part of training captive reptile is trying to not get them mistake your hand for food. My turtle sometimes bite my fingers that feed her because she mistakes it for food. Kinda hurt a little bit. Different story if a croc goes for your hand.

Bad Ass Nuff Said' Lol! Truly impressive especially since naturally they're solitary animals. Unlike dogs which are pack animals so we just built on instinct, for their domestication. Though cats are also solitary hunters, with the exception of very few big cats and look how far they've come as pets.
