I'm looking to start up my old 55 tank with pairs/trios of peacocks, but i know certain ones will crossbreed. So I'm looking at 4 or so different species from different groups to not have that happen. I have a fairly wide selection of breeders around Which would you guys pick?

Have you thought about doing an all male set up?

I agree, all males do look great... But then so do a few guys showing up to their girls....

Its so hard to recommened things like that I think, because everybody likes different things, If I were you, Id go on google, or pop to your local library, and look up some pictures, make a list of all the fish that catch your eye, then go from there, do a little research ticking off all the compatible fish, and dumping the rest.

I do like the idea of an all male tank for super color but I enjoy watching fish breed. I've seen a few youtube videos of an all male tank and it rocks!

Since peacock females all look alike most peacocks will crossbreed with one another. The best way to breed peacocks is to do species tanks. For a display tank I think an all male tank is the best.

dead on!

My local LFS has a mixed rift lake all male tank and it is amazing. I am actually stocking my 50 with all males now, but in the future I am going to set up a 75gal and cut my inhabitants down cause of my growing fronts
